2027: Atiku, ADC’s plot to sabotage APC rallies will fail – PCC alleges

From Cyril Mbah, Abuja.

The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, (APC PCC), has accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the African Democratic Congress, ADC, of plotting to sabotage aand discredit its presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna, assuringthat such plans will fail.

In a statement on Saturday, spokesperson of the Council, Dr. Dele Alake, said the party uncovered a well-orchestrated plan by Atiku and his party to discredit the rally scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2026.

Alake alleged the former vice president and ADC planned to misinform the public through fake news operations and by planting false news in mainstream and social media with use of Artificial Intelligence, deepfake videos and counterfeit documents.

He said in the last 24 hours, the tactics were deployed, beginning with the release of pictures of security vehicle on routine patrol stationed at the junction near APC campaign billboard in Kaduna.

According to him, Atiku and ADC propaganda machinery twisted the narrative, claiming security agents were deployed to protect APC billboards, and planted the story in a national newspaper known for anti-government stance.

He said immediately after the publication, Atiku shared it on his official social media handles to generate traffic.

Alake said not long after, Atiku and ADC agents released another fake letter online purportedly written by Governor Uba Sani and addressed to the Director-General of APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, on the release of N2.3 trillion by Kaduna Government to host the rally.

“We are still at a loss as to how anyone can imagine and concoct this senseless and utterly baseless lie that defies logic and basic common sense. How much is the entire annual revenue of Kaduna State, or any state, for that matter, that a state would spend N2.3 trillion to host a rally?” Alake queried.

He noted N2.3 trillion being circulated is more than Kaduna annual budget for three years, explaining that combined budgets for 2024 (N458.271bn), 2025 (N790.439bn) and 2026 (N985.9bn) are still less than N2.3 trillion.

The Council said the two scenarios are only part of the grand plan, alleging that the ADC and Atiku’s agents also perfected plans to circulate old, doctored and deepfake videos as the rally gets underway to show purported resentment.

“It is a fact that Atiku Abubakar and the ADC are incapable of winning any election. They will pull any strings, no matter how despicable and atrocious, to stay afloat in desperate bid to grab power at all costs,” Alake said, urging Nigerians to be vigilant.
