APC Flags Off Tinubu’s Re-election Campaign In Kaduna Oct 24

From Cyril Mbah, Abuja.

The All Progressives Congress, (APC), has fixed October 24, 2026, for the flag-off of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign in Kaduna State.
The Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, announced this in a statement released in Abuja, urging party leaders, members, coordinators and support groups to begin mobilisation for the event.

Yari said the Kaduna rally will mark the commencement of a nationwide campaign to secure another four-year term for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.
“Once we leave Kaduna, we will not rest until we have been to all 36 states and the FCT,” he said.

Yari called on state chapters and support groups to work with the campaign council’s secretariat to ensure massive turnout at the flag-off, while stressing the need for a peaceful exercise.

According to him, the ruling party will take its message to every part of the country after Kaduna, with grassroots mobilisation as its main strategy.

Yari defended the administration’s reform agenda, saying the government needs more time to complete its policies and allow Nigerians to reap the full benefits.
He noted that President Tinubu took tough decisions that previous administrations avoided and Nigerians have shared in the burden of those reforms.

“The President took tough decisions that many before him avoided, and Nigerians have carried part of that burden with him. We owe it to them to make sure the reforms are completed and they see the full benefit. That is why we are asking for four more years,” Yari said.

The campaign director-general urged party faithfuls, political leaders and young Nigerians who support the administration to attend the Kaduna event with their supporters.

“When Nigerians see the crowd in Kaduna that day, they should know this party is ready for the work ahead,” he said.

He added that victory will be achieved through work in every ward and polling unit by volunteers who engage voters directly.

“We will achieve victory by working in every ward and polling unit, through people who knock on doors and explain to their neighbours why this government deserves more time. Kaduna is where that work begins for us,” he stated.

Yari disclosed that the announcement followed President Tinubu’s approval of the proposed campaign timetable and state visits during a meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on October 9.

He said the council will hold its inaugural meeting on October 14 at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja ahead of the flag-off, while the detailed itinerary will be released after the inauguration.

President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima will lead the council as chairman and vice-chairman respectively, according to the composition announced by the State House on August 22, 2026, which named Yari as Director-General and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as Secretary.
